FAQ

What is the best time of day for a newborn session?

The best time for in-home sessions are during daylight hours, usually in the morning between 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

How do I prepare my baby for the session?

To ensure your baby is comfortable, try to keep them awake for an hour or so before the session to help them sleep during the photos. It’s also helpful to feed your baby right before the session starts so they are full and content.

How long will the session last?

Newborn sessions typically last between 60 to 90 minutes. This allows time for feeding, soothing, and any breaks needed to ensure your baby is comfortable throughout the session.

How old should my baby be for the best photos?

For the best newborn photos, it’s ideal to schedule the session when your baby is between 7-14 days old. At this age, babies are typically still very sleepy and flexible, making it easier to pose them for those precious, peaceful shots. However, if you miss that window, don’t worry! I’m experienced in working with older newborns, and we can still capture beautiful photos at any age.

Can we include family members in the session?

Absolutely! I love including parents and siblings in newborn sessions. The first family photos are such a special moment to capture. Just let me know in advance if you'd like to include specific family members so we can plan accordingly.
